AC made by Southern Cross South Africa These engines were made by Southern Cross at their new Bloemfontein machine shop South Africa from the late 1950s to the late 1960s and is a copy of a Wolseley. The patterns, tools and jigs for making the engine were done at Toowoomba which was all sent to South Africa along with a group of foundry workers to help to set it all up. As for numbers on each engine and years they were made has not been found as yet, this one it the photo had no tag and no numbers elsewhere could be found. |
