It is unrestored, but still runs well and we use it whenever we need larger volumes of compressed air. The compressor is a C.P. 3 cylinder of unknown cfm, but it is certainly substantial. Pistons were siezed due to water entry, but was otherwise in sound condition. Presume it was re-built at some stage, as big-end journals are .010" undersize and valves and pistons look fairly new. Injection gear has now been carefully salvaged and re-commissioned at no great expense. I suspect the unit may have been repaired after external damage, as the radiator looks like a unit from later G series engines, The engine may yet have another life driving a small sugar mill at a local rum distillery which caters to our growing tourist trade. 2009 28560 Engine number - year 1948 Type YB This engine it was originally used to drive a hay press on a farm in the Bamawm area not far from here and it was then used to pump water. Pulled the side cover off and found a broken connecting rod, so it looks like the engine has failed and it's probably been discarded onsite or it's been through a flood. Picked this up on ebay in 2006 from Griffith. The guy had bought it to restore with his kids but decided not to and sell instead. Sold this and engine 31071 together with a centrifugal irrigation pump. Looks like this engine and the pump were bought at an auction as a single lot, not sure about 31071.
