48247 Engine number - year 1954 Type ETB Sydney NSW Brought this engine off ebay in 2007 from a

pump collector in Tamworth. He'd brought elsewhere and had recovered the water pump from it. Sold it

as is still on the wooden sled. Original condition and looks like a complete engine, but hadn't been going

for some time - diesel remaining in tank had gone off and there was about a litre of water in the bottom

of the sump. Currently under restoration, engine has been dismantled and is being cleaned. Looks

generally OK inside except for all bearings on the crank which will need overhaul/replacement.

(issue 129 ). It is the first E. T.C I have seen painted green ( see photo in T.O.M.M.) instead of the

usual reddish brown. I don't think it will take much to have this one up and running, maybe just a "liquid

months (1/07) The engine cost me 2x6 packs of beer, a bargain. It is in very good condition having

always been stored under cover. The bloke who originally (from what I was told) owned this engine

lent it to a neighbor this neighbor used it for 25 years in his shearing shed. When this engine was

getting down on power the neighbor returned it. by this time the original owner had sold the farm and

had no use for it, but decided to "do it up" he removed the piston and conrod and that was as far as

he went The engine in now fully restored and starts on 3 swings of the crank handle SA
